Chargers Women's Basketball Camps
Andrea Lemmond is in her third season as the head coach of the UAH women's basketball program, coming to Huntsville after spending six seasons as an assistant at Samford.
In her second season in the Rocket City, Lemmond guided the team to a 15-12 mark, and her team established the program record for GSC wins with a12-10 mark in conference play en route to a second-straight postseason berth with her at the helm. Several signature wins highlighted the regular season campaign led by a season-sweep of West Florida – including a win on national television in January – and a home victory over GSC tournament champion Delta State.
Under her direction, Dina Saunders was an all-GSC selection, while Halle Jarnagin earned CoSIDA Academic All-America honors while wrapping up her career as UAH’s second-best all-time rebounder.
Lemmond guided the Chargers to the GSC tournament in her first season as head coach of the Chargers, and the squad nearly upset top-seeded Union on the road.
During Lemmond's tenure at Samford – which saw her involved in all aspects of the program including recruiting and practice and in-game coaching – the Bulldogs reached new heights as a program. The team won at least 20 games in four of Lemmond's six seasons, including a school-record 25 victories during the 2010-11 season.
That success led the Bulldogs to postseason achievements, also, as Samford won the SoCon tournament in back-to-back seasons in 2011 and 2012 to reach consecutive NCAA tournaments, giving the Bulldogs three straight national tournament appearances as the team also advanced to the WNIT in 2009 and earned a first-round win over Ole Miss.
Prior to joining the Samford coaching staff, Lemmond spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Huntingdon College in Montgomery.
Lemmond graduated from Samford in 2006 after playing four seasons for the Bulldogs, and she was especially strong during her senior season in which the team recorded the program's first-ever 20-win season along with its first appearance in the Ohio Valley Conference tournament semifinals.
In addition to graduating from Samford, Lemmond also earned a master's degree from Auburn University in 2008.
She is married to Graham Lemmond, and the couple welcomed son Jaxon to the family during the 2015-16 season.
